Michihito moved from Japan to Finland for a very traditional reason – a Finnish wife. After studying architecture and 3D modeling in Tokyo and in Aalto University’s Media Lab, Helsinki, he eventually found himself creating ground-breaking Augmented Reality solutions at Siili.
“My job is to pin-point the problem our client has, and then create a great solution for it”, Michihito explains.
Working with emerging technology has been fun for Michihito, and to tackle challenges, he uses user-centric design, as well as co-creation with the customer. He also likes to get very hands-on in the projects, to find the best possible solution.
Besides creating innovations for new technologies, Michihito is an avid sailor. He has steered his boat in the archipelago for three years now, and is thinking of entering a boat race in the near future.
“Sailing is an architect thing – for some reason many architects are inspired by boats”, Michihito smiles.
Working at Siili is another thing that makes Michihito smile. He likes how flat the organization at Siili is, and how everyone’s voice is being heard.
“If you want to grow in your career and have a clear vision of what you want to do, Siili is a good place to be”, Michihito says.
